  1. My winners would probably be:

    Picture: Rashomon
I think Sunset Boulevard is a masterpiece but Rashomon is one of the most brilliant movies ever made in my opinion. Sunset Boulevard is my third choice after Rashomon and All About Eve, a movie I love.

Best Director: Wilder, with Kurosawa as a close runner-up. As much as I love All About Eve, I don't think its Oscar for directing was all that deserved.

    Best Actor: Mifune, he's amazing.
    Actress: Bette Davis
She's sensational for me and easily my win although Swanson is magnificent too. I really quite liked Holliday, Parker and Baxter, but I didn't love any of them.
    Supporting Actor: Sanders, rather easily.
Supporting Actress: Kyo, with Celeste Holm as the runner-up. I like Hope Emerson in Caged but her performance while very entertaining and memorable is a bit too one-dimensional for me.
Agree with all of your other choices.

    1. It seems I've seen much more in Hemerson's performance than most, but it took me time to really apreciate her and Parker, whom I loved too. It was a great year for actresses, Gloria Grahame, Ingrid Bergman, Joan Fontaine and mostly Peggy Cummins and Barbara Stanwyck could have been in that list.
